Leon Sun is a San Francisco based photographer, printmaker, graphic designer, poet and writer. He began screen printing (serigraphy) back in 1979 through Asian community arts groups such as Community Asian Art & Media Project (CAAMP) in Oakland, and Japantown Art & Media Workshop (JAM) in San Francisco, California. For many years he was staff photographer for Unity newspaper and Art Director and graphic designer for East Wind magazine. Sun was a member of Taller Sin Fronteras, a group of progressive Bay Area artists and activists. His photographs and screened prints have been exhibited in group shows in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, Germany, Cuba, Israel and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
